I'm Still Alive
Hi, everybody! I don't have too terribly much time, but I thought I'd post a quick update. First off, I finished Birch, and I wear it all of the time. Of course, I don't have a photo, but I'll get one up here shortly. I do, however, have a picture of my niece modeling her hooded sweater at her birthday party (of course, I didn't get to go, since I was moving, but that's life). Here she is:
I'm glad that it fit, especially the hood. I was worried that it might be too small.
In other knitting news, I went to the Kentucky State Fair last week, to see sheep and knitting (and pigs and quilting, too). It was nice, although a lot of the entries were really simple. There was a basic baby's roll brim hat, and there was a garter stitch scarf. But, of course, there were some gorgeous arans and lacy sweaters and cabled baby booties. I think I'll enter some stuff next year. But honestly, compared to the Iowa State Fair, this one just didn't measure up. Of course, I'm biased, as I *love* the Iowa State Fair.
What else? Well, I still don't have the internet, so when I make it to a coffee shop or Panera's, I use the internet almost exclusively for job hunting. I've applied for about 10 jobs in the last three weeks, and of course I've heard back from nobody, and they don't have phone numbers you can call. I have a few more to apply for, and some temp jobs to apply for, but other than that, it's just a big waiting game.
And now, back to the job listings....
